Dedy Guswandi

Dedy Guswandi is a landscape architect with more than 20 years of professional experience in masterplanning, strategic design, regeneration, and landscape architecture projects of various scales, from concept through to construction supervision. As Director of Sheils Flynn Asia, he leads a multidisciplinary team of architects, landscape architects, and engineers, overseeing business strategy, client engagement, and project delivery. His expertise lies in balancing sustainable development principles with commercial viability, ensuring projects maximize environmental value while considering return on investment.

Education & Professional Registration

Dedy holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from Bogor Agriculture University (2004) and a Master’s in Management and Business Strategy from IPB University’s School of Business (2019). He is a Registered Landscape Architect with LPJK and a certified assessor at Indonesia’s National Professional Certification Board (BNSP).

Professional Experience

• Director, PT Sheils Flynn Asia (2014–present): Responsible for overall company management, client relations, and delivery of complex, high-profile projects involving international collaboration.
• Associate & Senior Landscape Architect, PT Sheils Flynn Asia (2010–2014): Oversaw recruitment, training, and design processes, with exposure to both Indonesian and UK-based projects.
• Landscape Architect, PT Sheils Flynn Asia (2005–2010): Led Asia and UK projects, managing cross-office design, studies, and communications.

Leadership & Affiliations

Dedy has held leadership roles within the Indonesian Society of Landscape Architects (ISLA), including Chairman of the Profession Division (2019–2022) and Chairman of the Profession, Organization, and Award Division (2022–2025). He also serves as a professional assessor for SARLINDO, Indonesia’s landscape architecture certification body.

Teaching & Professional Contributions

In addition to practice, Dedy contributes actively to education and professional development. He has been a guest lecturer at IPB University, ITB Bandung, and Trisakti University, and a teaching practitioner in the Kampus Merdeka program. He frequently speaks at seminars and workshops, and has served as an assessor for professional certification as well as a jury member for international student competitions.
